Job summary

Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking an Overnight Shelter Assistant to provide crisis and non-crisis intervention services for individuals in shelter. The role requires responding to crisis calls, maintaining child supervision, and assisting with routine appointments and transport as needed.

The position offers a nightly schedule with compensation of $20/hour plus up to $2/hour shift differential, and eligibility for referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Background and pre-employment checks required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis calls and shelter intakes and departures.
• Assist with case management duties as assigned.
• Maintain child supervision and assist with hygiene, meals, and transport.
• Complete required forms and documentation.
• Participate in annual training and maintain certifications.
