Job summary

Children's Home Society of South Dakota in Sioux Falls is seeking a Part-Time Youth Care Provider to offer crisis and non-crisis intervention for children in the shelter. The role includes supervising children, assisting with hygiene, meals, and appointments, and contributing to a safe shelter environment.

Responsibilities include documenting behavior and CPS-related reports, facilitating activities, and supporting staff through trainings and program coordination.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1 year of childcare preferred.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Care of Children: supervise children, assist with hygiene, diet, dressing, bathing, and accompany to routine appointments.
• Behavior: document and manage child behavior, CPS reports, and necessary records.
• Safety and Policies: follow safety, infection control and shelter procedures.
• Program Management: run structured activities and coordinate daily, monthly events and trainings.
• Shelter Activities: coordinate shelter programs, assist with crisis calls and admissions/discharges.
• Professional Development: complete annual trainings and maintain certifications.
