CareMed invites a Wound Nurse Practitioner to lead wound care for residents in long-term care facilities. You will prescribe medications, order therapies, and coordinate with nursing home staff and the primary physician to optimize outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an Arkansas NP license, board certification, and have wound care experience in geriatric settings. DEA licensure is optional; strong EMR skills and interprofessional collaboration are required.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
