Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions in Arkansas is seeking a Wound Nurse Practitioner to deliver specialized wound care to residents in long-term care facilities. You will evaluate wounds, prescribe appropriate therapies, and coordinate treatment plans with facility staff and physicians.

The ideal candidate holds an AR NP license with board certification, wound care experience, and comfort working in an interdisciplinary team using EMR systems. A sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas
• Board Certification in NPs
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties
• Clinical background of wound care and chronic wounds
• Diagnose and treat diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds including Kennedy Ulcers
• Staging pressure injuries per NPIAP guidelines
• Familiar with wound care products (collagens, alginates, foams, silvers)
• Experience with wound vacs and other DME devices
• Wound certification preferred or open to obtaining it
• Experience in long-term care setting
• Proficient with EMR and interdisciplinary care team coordination

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.

• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.

• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.

• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.

• and/or the care plan.

• Collaborate with the primary care physician.
  

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.

• Board Certification.

• DEA licensure (Optional)

• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.

• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds

• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.

• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP

• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.

• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices

• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified

• Experience working in a long-term care setting.

• Ability to work with an EMR.

• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
