Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions seeks a Wound NP to provide wound care services for residents in long-term care facilities. You will prescribe medications, order/monitor treatments, and collaborate with nursing home staff and the primary care physician to optimize patient outcomes.

Required are Arkansas NP licensure, board certification, and wound care experience; familiarity with EMRs and DME is preferred. A strong background in geriatric care and wound assessment is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification required.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Experience in adult, family, or geriatric care.
• Wound care experience with chronic or infected wounds.
• Comfort diagnosing/treating diabetic, arterial, venous wounds or Kennedy ulcers.
• Ability to stage pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Familiar with advanced wound care products (collagens, alginates, foams, silvers).
• Experience with wound vacs and DME.
• Willingness to pursue wound certification.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.

• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.

• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.

• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.

• and/or the care plan.

• Collaborate with the primary care physician.
  

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.

• Board Certification.

• DEA licensure (Optional)

• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.

• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds

• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.

• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP

• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.

• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices

• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified

• Experience working in a long-term care setting.

• Ability to work with an EMR.

• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
