Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner specializing in wound care to join our care team in Arkansas. This role focuses on providing wound care for residents in long-term care facilities, with the ability to diagnose and treat complex wounds and to collaborate with primary physicians and facility staff.

You will manage treatment plans, order testing, prescribe medications as allowed by AR law, and work within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Diagnose and treat diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiologies wounds or Kennedy ulcers.
• Staging pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Experience with wound VACs and other DME devices.
• Preference for wound certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to coordinate patient care within an interdisciplinary team.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.

• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.

• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.

• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.

• and/or the care plan.

• Collaborate with the primary care physician.
  

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.

• Board Certification.

• DEA licensure (Optional)

• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.

• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds

• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.

• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP

• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.

• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices

• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified

• Experience working in a long-term care setting.

• Ability to work with an EMR.

• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
