Job summary

The Children's Cabinet, Inc. is seeking a Workforce Development Academic Instructor to provide educational instruction and HSE preparation to youth and young adults in the Workforce Development & Education programs, including Washoe YouthBuild and other initiatives.

You will use a student-centered, strengths-based approach to help participants achieve educational, credentialing, and career goals, collaborating with Case Managers and partners to promote retention and success.

• Positive youth development strategies and participant engagement techniques.
• Trauma-informed educational practices.
• Workforce development principles and career pathway models.
• Education systems, alternative education pathways, and community-based learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver instruction and HSE preparation in math, reading, writing, science, social studies, and other areas based on participant needs.
• Create engaging lesson plans and learning resources aligned with program goals.
• Use differentiated instructional strategies for varying learning levels.
• Integrate academic instruction with workforce development and career pathways.
• Support participants in preparing for and completing HSE assessments with progress monitoring.
• Monitor participant progress and adjust strategies based on data.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and staff to support individualized participant plans.
• Provide individualized educational support and tutoring as needed.
• Establish a positive learning environment that promotes participation and accountability.
• Communicate progress and needs with families, schools, and community partners.
