Job summary

The Children's Cabinet, Inc. is seeking a Specialized Trades Instructor to lead construction training within our Workforce Development & Education programs in Reno.

The role emphasizes hands-on instruction, safety, and preparing youth for employment, apprenticeships, and career pathways in the trades. Responsibilities include overseeing projects, teaching blueprint reading, construction math, estimating, and ensuring OSHA compliance while building relationships with employers and community

Qualifications

• Supervisory and instructional experience in construction settings.
• Ability to teach diverse youth with varying skill levels.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee construction training components aligned with YouthBuild standards and labor requirements.
• Plan and supervise hands-on projects, safety practices, and work-based learning opportunities.
• Deliver direct instruction in blueprint reading, math, materials, and jobsite organization.
• Mentor participants, track progress, and coordinate with partners and employers.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safety of tools and equipment.
