Job summary

The Children’s Cabinet, Inc. in Reno, NV is seeking an Education/Workforce Development Instructor to deliver tailored academic instruction and vocational training to Redfield Academy students and Washoe YouthBuild participants.

You will create engaging curricula aligned with district standards, provide tutoring and mentorship, and collaborate with case managers to remove barriers to education while guiding students toward high school diplomas, adult diplomas, or HSE.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HSE exam requirements and barriers faced by disadvantaged youth.
• Understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion in education.
• Ability to develop engaging, inclusive instructional materials.

Responsibilities

• Implements instructional activities that actively engage students in learning.
• Develops curriculum, lesson plans and resources aligned with program goals.
• Delivers high-quality instruction in math, science, ELA, social studies, and related subjects.
• Provides mentoring and guidance to help students achieve goals and build confidence.
• Collaborates with Case Managers to minimize barriers to education.
• Monitors progress, administers assessments, and adjusts strategies as needed.
• Supports IEP implementation and coordination with program staff.
