Job summary

Bread for the City is seeking a Part-time Workforce Cafe Coordinator for its Workforce Development Program in Washington, DC. The 20-hour-per-week position focuses on building relationships with participants and delivering hands-on employment support in the Workforce Café setting.

The coordinator helps participants identify employment goals, navigate job resources, and access training opportunities, while maintaining a welcoming environment and coordinating with program staff to support progress

Responsibilities

• Maintain a welcoming, supportive presence in the Workforce Café during walk-in hours.
• Provide one-on-one assistance with job searches, applications, resumes, and online tools.
• Help participants identify employment goals and next steps.
• Connect participants with relevant job openings, training, and resources.
• Manage and update the Workforce Café Job Board.
• Organize employment resources and materials for the Café.
• Assist participants with online trainings and employment-related tech.
• Support planning of workshops and hiring events.
• Follow up with participants to track progress toward goals.
• Identify participants who may need more intensive services and refer to managers.
• Collaborate with staff to connect participants with services for stability.
• Maintain participant records and document outcomes.
• Gather information about community resources and employer needs.
• Perform related duties to support the program.
