Job summary

Rockler in Novi, MI is hiring a part-time Customer Service Associate who provides immediate, complete attention to customers by explaining, demonstrating, and selling woodworking supplies and tools. You will also maintain the sales floor, assist with closing duties, and support management as needed.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering questions on product application, handling returns and sales, and promoting the “Total solution” by suggesting related items.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• Knowledge of woodworking and hand tools required.
• Previous retail sales experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes store as directed by store manager and may perform other management tasks.
• Handles customer refunds and overrides; maintains daily sales records and cash balances.
• Greets customers and ensures they are acknowledged promptly.
• Handles all aspects of retail sales by answering questions on product applications and ringing up sales.
• Promotes total solution by linking related products and services for customers.
• Maintains neat, well-stocked displays and supports merchandising.
• Assists with unloading trucks, pricing and merchandising as needed.
• Attendance is essential; be present for scheduled shifts.
