Job summary

Pembroke Hospital is seeking a Part Time Intake Coordinator to support admissions on weekends. The role requires working 2pm to 10:30pm for 24 hours per week, with every-other weekend duty.

The coordinator will gather demographic, clinical, and insurance data, ensuring accuracy for admissions and referrals. Ideal candidates have inpatient behavioral health/admissions experience, strong communication skills, and comfort with insurance terminology.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ years of inpatient behavioral health/admissions experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and phone skills.
• Ability to understand financial and insurance terminology.
• Strong computer and medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Completes the intake call sheet on all referrals for inpatient admissions as appropriate.
• Gathers demographic, clinical and financial information on the call sheet.
• Ensures information is accurate before transmission to hospital staff.
• Requests evaluations from ESP/ED/Referrer as needed.
• Assists in interpretation of lab values and diagnostics to facilitate referrals.
• Reports first-call acceptance decisions and notifies units promptly.
• Maintains bed availability and updates external bedboard regularly.
