Job summary

Town of Spring Lake is seeking a Water and Sewer Maintenance Technician for a part-time role in Spring Lake, NC. You will operate, maintain, and repair water distribution and wastewater systems and respond to emergencies to protect public health and safety.

Minimum requirements: HS diploma or GED, five years in public works or related field, and NC Class B CDL (or ability to obtain within one year) plus Grade I Collection, Class C Distribution, and Cross Connection Tester certifications (or

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of public works or related field experience preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, repair, and installation of water distribution and wastewater systems.
• Inspects lift stations and reports needs; assists with taps and line cleaning.
• Cleans and maintains lift station sites as required.
• Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of water and sewer systems.
• Locates and marks utilities in response to locate requests.
• Operates heavy and specialized equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintains documentation and operational records; adheres to safety policies.
