Job summary

Cecil County Public Library is seeking a Part Time Volunteer Coordinator to manage the youth and adult volunteer program. You will recruit, screen, onboard, train, and retain volunteers who support CCPL’s mission.

The role requires collaboration with branch and outreach staff, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information. Must lift up to 25 pounds and travel to branches as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience in nonprofit or local government preferred.
• Strong organizational, judgment, poise, tact, integrity, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the full lifecycle of volunteer relationships from recruitment to onboarding and retention.
• Create and maintain a volunteer manual educating volunteers on services and expectations.
• Serve as primary contact between branches, outreach, and volunteers.
• Respond to volunteers' questions and escalate when needed.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records including hours and assignments.
• Plan and coordinate annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast.
