Job summary

York County Library System’s Village Library seeks a part-time Youth Services Program Coordinator to lead youth programs and coordinate age-appropriate activities, using PA standards and literacy initiatives. You’ll work with the Manager on collection development and outreach.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Library or Education, experience with youth programming, and the ability to collaborate, communicate, and market events, including via social media.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 1st preference is Library or Education degree.
• Experience developing, coordinating and/or presenting youth programming is required.
• Current Child Abuse clearance; PA Criminal History; FBI fingerprint-based record check; and Mandated Reporter Training certificate.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and publicize online and in-person programs for children and teens.
• Visit schools and organizations to build relationships and promote programs and reading incentives.
• Assist Manager in collection development for Children’s and Teen’s collections.
• Maintain knowledge of Youth Services trends and best practices.
• Coordinate volunteers and communicate with staff and library members.
