Job summary

Ensemble Schools is seeking a part-time voice or voice and piano instructor to teach at Music House School of Music in Lenexa and Overland Park, KS. Instructors teach in person, primarily on Monday and Thursday nights between 3-9 pm. Experience with early childhood group classes is a plus and pay is $24-$28 per hour.

We are a team-driven organization with ~25 teachers and 10 admins. Music House has three locations and ~700 weekly students, offering growth and collaboration in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in music education or performance.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience; group teaching a plus.
• Performance experience in both individual and ensemble settings.
• Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking and listening).
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with technology and various online applications.
• Punctuality and reliable transportation; able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach private lessons building on student strengths and interests.
• Lead group classes through Music House curriculum.
• Attend monthly faculty meetings.
• Assist with three community events per year (recitals, jam sessions, faculty concerts).
• Communicate with parents, fellow faculty and administrative staff.
• Track student attendance and maintain teaching notes.
• Prepare and follow lesson plans and teaching guides.
• Enroll students in group and individual performances.
