Job summary

Visionworks in Middletown, KY is seeking a part-time OD Tech/Optometric Assistant to support our exam practice and ensure a smooth patient journey. The role focuses on preliminary testing, eye health knowledge, and guiding patients through the Visionworks experience with a human and bold approach.

The position emphasizes handling records, coordinating with the OD, and assisting the sales team to tailor product and service recommendations for eye care needs.

Qualifications

• HS diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Related customer or patient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducing preliminary testing.
• Introduce patient to OD and provide OD with important patient information.
• Transition patient from doctor to sales floor and provide associates necessary information to educate and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs.
• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals including: restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
• Will open/close the store/office to support business as needed.
