Lakeside Spears Animal Hospital in Carbondale, IL is seeking a friendly receptionist to join our urgent care-focused team. The role primarily supports Urgent Care on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with the ability to cover General Practice shifts during the week as needed.

You will greet clients, triage needs, schedule appointments, check in/out, and process payments. Experience in a veterinary reception is preferred; strong communication, organizational skills, and a calm, compassionate

Our highly-trained veterinarians and technicians have a passion for providing high-quality, compassionate care-and we are looking to add motivated and talented professionals to our team!

This position will primarily support Urgent Care on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with the ability to cover General Practice shifts during the week as needed

Our hours of operation are:

• Mon-Fri: 9 AM - 5 PM
• Urgent Care Hours: Thursday- 12pm noon -10pm and Friday/Saturday: 12 PM noon - 12 AM midnight

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Maintain the visual appeal or the hospital reception area, greet and welcome clients and patients, answer questions and triage client concerns, answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution, schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow, check in and check out clients and process payments. Our receptionists offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients and must be comfortable with various medical outcomes.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Additional Information

Wage Range: $16/hr+ depending on level of experience
