Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for the Rome General Administration location (420 E 2nd Ave, Rome, GA).

You will perform rooming, vital signs, medical history review, screenings, CLIA-waived tests, vaccines, and support providers with procedures.

Certifications include BLS; education requires a high school diploma or GED and an approved MA program; strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA program completion preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtainable within specified timelines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and vital signs; collect medical history and screen for depression, falls, and social drivers.
• Assist provider with procedures as ordered; perform venipuncture and basic lab duties.
• Administer medications and vaccines per protocol; manage refills and scheduling as needed.
• Maintain clean, stocked work area; ensure equipment is functional and accessible.
• Demonstrate patient-centered communication and teamwork; escalate issues appropriately.
