Job summary

Advocate Health in Rome, GA is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support patient rooming, vitals, medication administration, and lab duties. The role requires completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent military training and holds a current BLS where required.

The MA will assist providers with procedures, manage scheduling, and ensure accurate charting in the EMR system, contributing to a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or DD214 in lieu of MA program or EMT.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification where required.
• Experience with electronic medical records systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs and medical history.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs POCT per order.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of medication administration.
• Manages scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations.
