Job summary

Hertz in Austin, TX is seeking a Part-Time Car Control Clerk to ensure rental-ready vehicles and manage registration, inventory, staging and non-retable units at the site. You will split time between office and outdoor work, using handheld devices, scanning and reviewing reports, and supporting transportation coordination.

The role involves data entry, daily communication with fleet and operations teams, and occasional evenings or weekends. Prior car rental experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to work with computers and tablets.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to navigate GPS mapping applications and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities to make vehicles rental/ready, including inspections and registrations.
• Review site VAW variances to resolve mis-coded cars.
• Organize vehicle staging on lot for quick action based on status and scanning with handheld devices.
• Review non-rentable units and fleet levels; collaborate with Pool Fleet Manager to resolve status issues.
• Ensure all vehicles are tagged with Quadrant system and monitor aging per reports.
• Inventory vehicles and monitor asset control points; add new asset tags to incoming fleet in EAM.
• Handle administrative duties: data entry, responding to emails, viewing reports, closing work orders, conference calls.
• Coordinate transportation and car haulers, including Non-Revenue moves.
