Job summary

National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) is seeking a Budget Technician (GS3559-WI-001) in Madison, WI for the USGS Experienced Services Program. The role is 20 hours per week with a wage of $40.00 per hour and a total estimated 760 hours, requiring at least 10 years of budget management experience or an AA Degree.

The technician will support budgeting, reimburseable agreements, billing, and labor adjustments, with opportunities to train new staff and contribute to Center

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Budget Management OR AA Degree.
• Experience in the budget section for a USGS Water Science Center.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist in budgeting and financial item management, including reimbursable agreements and billing.
• Support labor adjustments and credit card reconciliation for Center finances.
• Train new admin budget staff and ensure continuity of Center financial functions.
