Job summary

NextCare is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Waco, Texas. The role offers flexible scheduling with a minimum of four shifts per month and the opportunity to pick up additional shifts based on coverage needs.

Clinicians work in a fast-paced, supportive environment with standard clinic hours 8:00 AM–8:00 PM seven days a week, no after-hours tasks, and professional growth opportunities while delivering high-quality community care.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Board certification: PA NCCPA; NP ANCC or AANP with FNP.
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain.
• Offer to treat patients of all ages.
• Active BLS certification.
• EHR proficiency.
• Commit to a minimum of four shifts per month.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays.
• DOT certification or willingness to obtain; fees covered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies including labs and imaging.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, wound care, and others.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document care in the EHR and code/bill services.
• Maintain productivity aligned with urgent care benchmarks.
• Adhere to NextCare clinical standards and values.
