Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care in Waco, TX is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our Hewitt clinic. The role offers autonomy, varied clinical cases, and meaningful patient care in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The position features a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, with no after-hours work and advance notice of schedules. Competitive hourly compensation with a productivity bonus is provided alongside a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• PA: NCCPA certification.
• NP: ANCC or AANP certification; FNP required.
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain.
• Active BLS certification.
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered per policy.
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs, X-rays, and EKGs.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, I&D, and other procedures as applicable.
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR.
• Code and bill services appropriately.
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks.
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values.
