Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care in Waco, TX is seeking a part-time Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine physician to join our busy clinic. The role offers autonomy, flexibility, and meaningful community impact, with a minimum of 4 shifts per month in clinic and a rotating weekday/weekend schedule.

In addition to direct patient care, you will supervise assigned APPs with a structured stipend per APP supervised. Clinicians enjoy a supportive environment, guidance from medical leadership, and clear practice

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license for MD or DO.
• Board certified in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
• Active DEA license, or ability to obtain.
• Ability to treat patients of all ages.
• Active BLS certification.
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered.
• Willingness to work rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs, x-rays, and EKGs.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, wound care, and incision and drainage, as applicable.
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR; Code and bill services.
