SSA Marine in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Part-Time Operations Labor Manager to oversee labor personnel, coordinate vessel and terminal operations, and uphold safety and efficiency within the framework of union agreements.

The role directs foremen and staff, plans workforce needs, and ensures productivity while aligning with company policies. This position reports to senior management and supports cost-effective terminal operations in a dynamic port environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; management experience considered.
CPR certification preferred.
Valid driver's license and ability to obtain TWIC card.
Experience with terminal operating systems or similar software.

Responsibilities

Directs hiring, evaluation, discipline, and termination of labor personnel in line with policy and union agreements.
Oversees foremen and operational staff, aligning work with requirements and availability.
Maintains knowledge of CBAs and enforces them in daily operations.
Investigates incidents and safety concerns; reports findings to management.
Plan and deploy labor and equipment to meet vessel turnaround commitments.
Monitor productivity and ensure equipment and gear readiness before ops.
Ensure safety, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with vessel personnel, customers, and terminal staff; manage reporting.
