Job summary

SSA Marine seeks an Operations Labor Manager to direct and coordinate labor and operations across multiple terminals, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution. You will exercise independent judgment to manage labor personnel within company policies and CBAs, while representing management on safety, productivity, and labor relations.

You will oversee workforce planning, equipment needs, and shift deployment, adapting to conditions to meet performance targets and ensure regulatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; management experience considered.
• Preferably 3 years managing employees in a similar environment.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain TWIC card.
• Current CPR certification.
• Working knowledge of terminal operations, cargo stowage and stability.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Familiarity with computerized terminal operating systems.
• Knowledge of applicable safety and accident-prevention codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assigns the work of foremen, supervisory clerks, and other operational personnel based on requirements and availability.
• Exercises independent judgment over hiring, assignment, direction, evaluation, discipline, and termination per policy and CBAs.
• Investigates workplace incidents, safety violations, and labor complaints; prepares reports and escalates as needed.
• Plans, coordinates, and reports on safety, throughput, and labor relations across terminals.
