Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) at a utilities location in Fairfax, VA. You will perform patrols, monitor access, document activities, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service and upholding site procedures.

Qualifications include strong communication, basic computer skills, and a HS diploma. This role requires CPR/First Aid preferred, and background checks with possible drug screening per legal requirements.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience working in a primarily driving post is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per law; drug screen where permitted.
• Licensing requirements may apply; driver’s license for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery drivers while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a utility location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and unauthorized access.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications to support awareness of security-related conditions at the location.
