Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed) in Newport News, VA. You will patrol assigned areas, deter incidents, monitor access, and provide outstanding customer service while adhering to site procedures.

Pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Schedule includes Daytime shifts: Mon 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM and Sun 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Allied Universal emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and a people-first culture.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service while following site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly and report per procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of production areas and perimeters.
• Monitor access by observing people and deliveries; report unusual activity.
• Document patrols and incidents accurately according to procedures.
