Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Access Oversight in Newport News, VA. You will monitor site areas, perform patrols, support access control, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering friendly customer service.

This full-time role offers daytime shifts with a pay rate of $16.80 per hour, opportunities for growth, benefits, and training. A high school diploma and one year of security experience are required; a valid driver's license is needed

Qualifications

At least one year of security-related experience is required.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Minimum age: 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
Drug screen required where permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while following site policies and procedures.
Conduct regular unarmed patrols throughout manufacturing areas, parking, loading docks, and perimeter.
Monitor access points, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and maintain activity logs.
Respond to incidents calmly and notify appropriate contacts or emergency personnel.
Report maintenance concerns, access-control issues, and suspicious activity.
