Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Driver Patrol Operations in Birmingham, AL. This role offers flexible, fixed shifts with optional extra shifts through the Earn‑A‑Shift program to boost earnings.

You will provide customer service, conduct patrols, and support access control while maintaining a professional presence on site. Pay rate is $17.00 per hour with a 6‑month anchor shift commitment and opportunities to scale up to 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• A drug screen may be required as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and guests by carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail areas, storefronts, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report security-related concerns, suspicious activity, maintenance issues, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and directions while maintaining a professional presence at the location.
