Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard Part Time Unarmed Patrol Observer in Washington, DC. You will provide customer service to students, staff, and campus visitors, monitor assigned areas, and perform unarmed patrols to deter incidents.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus community members while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and assist with directing visitors, verifying authorized entry, and reporting access‑control concerns in accordance with campus policies.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors, campus representatives, and emergency responders regarding incidents and observations.
