Job summary

Allied Universal in Ashburn, VA is seeking a part-time unarmed Security Officer to patrol and protect a government education location. You will provide customer service, deter incidents, and respond to alarms while upholding safety policies.

The role offers flexible scheduling, a positive team environment, and opportunities to learn our shift-claim platform. CPR preferred; background checks and drug screening required; must be 18+.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Proficiency with a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and school personnel while following site procedures and emergency plans.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; report suspicious behavior or policy violations and direct individuals to appropriate offices.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document activities for records.
• Maintain a professional presence during operations, arrivals/dismissals, events, and other activities to support a respectful learning environment.
