Job summary

TheraPeds Partners seeks a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a part-time, school-based position in Williamstown, Kentucky. Responsibilities include direct and consultative services, IEP development, and collaboration with families and school teams.

You will work with PreK–Highschool students, ensuring access to curriculum and appropriate accommodations, with guaranteed hours and on-site in Williamstown. Compensation ranges with experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Current or eligible California Education Specialist Instruction Credential – Visual Impairments.
• Meets Kentucky's Basic Skills Requirement.
• Experience with children or young adults who are blind or visually impaired.
• School-based experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Expanded Core Curriculum and accommodations for VI students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with technology and assistive technology relevant to student needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative educational services to students who are blind or visually impaired.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs.
• Conduct educational and vision-related assessments within the TVI role.
• Evaluate student progress toward IEP goals.
• Adapt instructional strategies and materials for varying vision and learning needs.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary team.
