Job summary

Soliant Health seeks a licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support visually impaired students in an Indianapolis-area school for the full academic year. The contract involves about 15 hours per week with a caseload of roughly 20 students.

You will adapt instruction, develop accessible materials, coordinate with families and educational teams, and report progress as part of a multidisciplinary staff.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
• Experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities.
• Strong understanding of Braille, large print, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams.
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional vision assessments and tailor interventions with school staff.
• Provide direct and consultative services as outlined in students’ IEPs.
• Modify curriculum, teaching methods, and materials to support various access needs.
• Partner with general education teachers to create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Document and report on student progress, maintaining ongoing communication with families.
