College of Southern Nevada seeks tutors to help students improve academic achievement by meeting in person or online, clarifying learning challenges, strengthening study skills, and reinforcing course material. Tutoring supplements classroom instruction and may include review of material, reading strategies, and problem solving.
Sessions can be conducted in person or online. The maximum is 20 hours per week; combined with other CSN duties limited to 29 hours weekly.
Tutors assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with students in person or online to clarify learning challenges, strengthen study skills, and reinforce course material. Tutoring may include reviewing class material, discussing effective reading strategies, predicting test questions, formulating ideas for papers, and working through solutions to problems. Tutoring is intended to supplement classroom instruction.
The maximum amount of hours a tutor can work in the Centers is 20 hours per week. If you are also employed at another department at CSN or any other Nevada State Higher Education Institution, your hours will be combined and you cannot exceed 29 hours at both locations per week.
$15.00 per hour (contingent upon education level)
