Job summary

Job Description

The Early College Academy program at Aims Community College is a partnership with Greeley School District 6. The Early College Academy program gives high school students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma while subsequently earning an Associate of Arts degree.

Work Hours

10-15 hours per week.

Job Duties

• Conduct individual in-person and remote tutoring sessions for related school work.
• Approach tutoring with a learner-centered focus to increase students’ confidence and success.
• Have strong oral and written skills. Communicate with tutoring supervisor to ensure effective tutoring methodologies. Understand and support the student-teacher relationship.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of tutoring sessions.
• Guide students on how to develop active and independent learning skills.
• Adapt strategies for specific learning differences.
• Attend and participate in regular one-on-one and group training sessions.
• Stay up to date on current trends in tutoring practices.
• Have experience working with a diversity.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the tutoring supervisor.
• Adhere to student and staff policies as determined by Early College Academy.

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS in related field or certification in related area, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
• Teaching experience in related content area.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to tutor in multiple subjects.
