Job summary

LifeWorks in Austin, TX is seeking a Counselor II to provide trauma-informed, strengths-based counseling to youth and families participating in the Travis County Transformation Project (TCTP). This part-time role delivers individual, family, and crisis interventions across community, home, office, or telehealth settings.

You will work 20 hours per week, Monday–Thursday 4–8 pm and Saturdays 10–2 pm, with benefits including 24 PTO days, 11 holidays, a premium-free medical plan with HSA

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or related field and advanced licensure.
• 2+ years post-graduate direct clinical experience.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and restorative practices.
• Experience with schools, law enforcement, or community partners is preferred.
• Proficient with electronic records and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and family counseling using trauma-informed approaches.
• Deliver crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning.
• Offer services in home, community, office, respite shelter, and telehealth.
• Coordinate with Travis County partners and youth advocates.
• Maintain timely documentation and participate in program evaluation.
• Provide services during late afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
