Job summary

LifeWorks in Austin, TX is seeking a Counselor I to join our Community Based Counseling team. As a provisionally licensed counselor under supervision, you will provide counseling to transition aged youth 16-26 who have faced trauma and systemic hardships, in community settings at client homes, parks, cafes, or LifeWorks sites.

Qualifications

• Requires a Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field.
• Holds initial licensure (e.g., LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A) or can obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Requires 6+ months of direct clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides community and office-based individual, couples, group and/or family services.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessment, treatment planning, and documentation.
• Manages crisis situations with de-escalation and safety planning as appropriate.
• Completes referrals and maintains documentation per agency requirements.
• Collaborates with Lifeworks staff and community partners to ensure wrap-around services.
