College of Lake County is seeking a Testing Assistant to administer exams for students, staff, instructors, and community members while ensuring security and confidentiality of materials and records. The role includes data entry, setup support, and daily testing activity tracking.

The position may require certification as a test administrator depending on the exam, with work across Grayslake, Southlake, and Lakeshore campuses as needed. Part-time, 19 hours weekly, starting pay $16.13/hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of office support or related experience.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with regular guidance and frequent check-ins.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and maintain a respectful, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer exams according to testing standards, ensuring security and confidentiality.
• Provide clear instructions and customer service to examinees, students, instructors, and staff.
• Coordinate approved testing accommodations for students with disabilities.
• Schedule exam appointments and manage related communication and logistics.
• Monitor testing environments for compliance and report suspected violations.
• Maintain required testing certifications and assist in training new or temporary staff.
• Enter placement test scores accurately into the student database.
• Maintain testing records in FERPA compliance and complete required annual training.
• Track and report daily testing statistics and assist with file management and departmental tasks.
