Job summary

Lansing Public Library is seeking a Teen Associate to engage tweens and teens; you will work at the youth service desk, help plan and lead programs, and interact with afterschool youth to build relationships and accountable behavior.

The role requires a 12-18 hour per week schedule including weeknights 3-8pm and one to two Saturdays per month, with a background check and flexibility to work holidays if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred; two years in an adolescent-related degree program.
• 1 year experience working with teens in grades 6th-12th.
• Experience with automated ILS, preferably SirsiDynix.
• Proficient in Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Meet).
• Must work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Spend time at the youth service desk.
• Plan and lead exciting programs for tweens and teens.
• Interact with afterschool tweens to foster connections.

Education

Bachelor degree preferred
