Job summary

College of Southern Nevada’s Office of Technology Services in Henderson invites dependable students to join as a part-time IT support helper. You’ll assist in the computer lab, help students, faculty, and staff with basic tech questions, and gain hands-on experience in an educational environment.

No prior professional IT experience is required; training will be provided. The role offers exposure to hardware, software, imaging, networking basics, and customer service in a campus setting.

Qualifications

• CSN student status preferred; eligibility for student employment.
• Basic knowledge of computers, software applications, and Internet use.
• Willingness to learn new technology, tools, and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide courteous, professional customer service.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain confidentiality with tech and user information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to perform basic Internet research and document creation.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line support and oversight of the computer lab during operating hours.
• Assist students, faculty, and staff with basic computer, printer, account, and tech questions.
• Monitor lab and ensure equipment, workspaces, and resources are available and functioning.
• Direct users to appropriate resources when inquiries arise in person or by phone.
• Assist OTS technicians with basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, printers, and network issues.
• Assist with preparing, configuring, imaging, and deploying computers and equipment; training provided.
• Assist with installing, transporting, securing, and cable-managing equipment in classrooms and offices.
• Maintain organized record-keeping and inventory of tech equipment.
