Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston in Houston, TX is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor Supervisor to lead and motivate participants in swimming lessons, ensuring safety and alignment with YMCA policies and procedures.

You will supervise swim instructors, prepare class rosters, communicate with parents, maintain certifications, coordinate private lessons and scheduling, and help foster positive member and child development.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and 5+ years older than oldest participant.
• Demonstrate swim instructor skills per YMCA standards.
• Current YMCA Swim Instructor Certification and CPR/First Aid.
• At least one year of teaching experience; ability to instruct and supervise swimmers.

Responsibilities

• Conducts swim lessons in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Prepare for sessions by communicating with parents and organizing class rosters.
• Oversee skill tests and class assignments; monitor progress and safety.
• Oversee instructors to ensure positive student experiences and feedback.
• Coordinate private swim lesson requests and scheduling.
• Maintain accurate attendance and progress records.
