Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a dedicated swim instructor supervisor to lead and motivate instructors, ensure safety, and promote youth development through swim programs.

You will be responsible for emergency procedures, certifications, lesson planning, and parent communication while coordinating class rosters and schedules with the Aquatics Director. This role emphasizes safety, positive participant experiences, and effective feedback.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and at least 5 years older than the oldest participant.
• Demonstrate Swim Instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards, policies and procedures.
• At least one year of teaching experience required; YMCA Swim lessons preferred.

Responsibilities

• Knows and understands all emergency procedures and responds to emergencies immediately and appropriately.
• Maintains all required certifications.
• Conducts swim lessons as needed.
• Prepare for first day by communicating with parents and planning class layouts and rosters.
• Oversee skill tests and class division.
