Job summary

Shoreview YMCA is seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor (age 16+) to teach swim lessons and water safety to participants of all ages. The role offers flexible part-time scheduling, paid training, and a free YMCA membership as part of the benefits package.

As a Swim Instructor, you will follow YMCA guidelines, supervise students in the pool, and collaborate with the Aquatics team to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment for every participant.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16.
• Required certifications and trainings: YSL V6 trainings, Swim Instructor Skills Verification, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
• First Aid certification and Oxygen certification must be current within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide swimming instruction to students of various ages and abilities.
• Maintain constant supervision of students and assist swimmers as needed to ensure a positive learning environment.
• Know, communicate, and enforce pool and whirlpool policies and procedures.
• Evaluate students and recommend correct skill levels based on YMCA Swim Lessons guidelines.
