Job summary

Emler Swim and Gymnastic Schools in Alaska seeks a Deck Manager/Team Manager to lead the on-deck team and coaching staff. You’ll supervise instructors, ensure smooth class operations, and foster a welcoming, safe environment for kids and families.

No aquatic experience is required—we’ll train you to become a certified swim pro and safety expert, with shifts that include evenings and weekends and growth opportunities within the team.

Qualifications

• You are 18+ years old with a passion for working with children.
• You bring positive energy, strong communication, and natural leadership.
• You are available to work a consistent schedule including weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends.
• You are physically active and ready to be on your feet, in the water, and moving with purpose.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team on deck and in the pool, supervising and training hourly staff.
• Coach instructors and serve as a lead instructor for safe, engaging lessons.
• Celebrate student wins and observe progress across ages.
• Support families, ensuring customers feel confident and cared for.
• Manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and enrollment goals.
• Model and enforce a safety-first mindset for staff and students.
