Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Surgical Technology at the South Bend campus for the Fall 2026 semester. This part-time role involves delivering classes, using technology to enhance instruction, and supporting student retention and success.

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in Surgical Technology or higher, national certification in the field, and at least five years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Credential in surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by CAAHEP.
• Minimum five years of experience in OR scrub or as an instructor in surgical technology within the past ten years.
• Proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Support retention and completion by working with students.
• Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials; maintain accurate records.
• Engage with students to promote active learning and positive experience at Ivy Tech.
• Interact professionally with students and colleagues and comply with college policies.
• Ensure knowledge and implementation of emergency and safety procedures in classrooms and labs.
