Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College seeks adjunct faculty to teach Surgical Technology courses on an as-needed basis. Contracts run 8 or 16 weeks with pay of $45.45 per contact hour.

Faculty create learning environments aligned with syllabi, deliver instruction, and assess student progress while upholding FERPA and college policies. Qualified candidates must hold a regional baccalaureate or higher degree, CST (or CNOR prior to 2003), and minimal operating room experience.

Qualifications

• Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction.
• Faculty credentials outlined in ASOM 7.1 for the area of instruction.
• Transcripts and/or relevant certifications/licenses required at time of hire.
• Background check required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes per college policy and course objectives.
• Develops/maintains outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests and materials; maintains student records and grades.
• Uses technology to enhance instructional methods and engages with students professionally.
• Ensures safety procedures are followed in classrooms and labs; complies with FERPA and college policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned within regulatory and program standards.
