Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Surgical Technology in a part-time capacity. The role emphasizes delivering instruction aligned with syllabi, utilizing technology, and assessing student learning within a structured academic framework.

The position requires effective teaching, collaboration with the Department/Program Chair, and adherence to FERPA and college standards to support student success.

Qualifications

• A qualified faculty member meets the education component of the School of Technology discipline standard through one of three routes.
• Possesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and 5 years directly related work experience.
• Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the COR

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engage with students regularly in meaningful and productive ways to impact learning.
• Demonstrate teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
• Interact with students and co-workers in a professional manner and comply with College policies.
• Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.
• Promote an environment reflecting diverse backgrounds where all individuals feel respected and valued.
