Job summary

Mercy Health in Kings Mills is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support the Inpatient Surgery department. The role involves preparing and providing sterile instruments and equipment alongside the surgical team to facilitate operative procedures.

The position requires an Associate degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology, applicable certifications, and BLS as a preferred credential. This is a part-time, dayshift role located at Kings Mills Hospital.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (preferred).
• Must be certified by one of: CST, NBSTA or TS-C (TS-C not accepted for Cincinnati), NCCT (required).
• Registered CST with the Virginia Board of Medicine (required if currently reside in Virginia).

Responsibilities

• Assists with sterile instrument handling and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares and maintains sterile supplies and instruments for procedures.
• Adapts to special instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Assists with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the operative room and instruments.
• Prepares and performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
